What types of concerns can therapy help with?

Our therapy services address a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, behavioral challenges, learning difficulties, emotional regulation, and adjustment issues. We also support clients dealing with stress, parenting challenges, relationship concerns, trauma, grief, and life transitions. Sessions are designed to help clients improve self-awareness, manage difficult emotions, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding.

How do you approach therapy for children and adolescents?

Therapy for children and teens is collaborative, engaging, and tailored to each developmental level. We focus on improving emotional regulation, problem-solving, frustration tolerance, and social communication. Parent involvement is often a key component. Parents receive guidance, coaching, and behavior management strategies to reinforce progress at home. We create a supportive environment where children feel safe exploring their feelings while learning concrete skills for success at school and home.

Do you offer therapy for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)?

Yes. We specialize in therapy and coaching for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. Therapy may target social communication skills, self-regulation, anxiety management, flexible thinking, and self-advocacy. We also offer parent support and psychoeducation to help families better understand their child’s developmental profile and implement effective strategies at home. Our approach emphasizes each client’s strengths while helping them build practical life and coping skills.

What therapy services do you provide for adults?

Adult therapy at Rockwell Psychological Services focuses on supporting individuals through stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, parenting concerns, and relationship issues. Sessions encourage self-awareness, emotional regulation, and skill-building for managing daily demands and personal challenges. Our team's approach combines empathy with practical tools to promote growth and well-being across all areas of life.

How long does therapy usually last?

Therapy length varies depending on each client’s needs and goals. Some clients benefit from short-term, solution-focused therapy (8–12 sessions), while others may engage in longer-term therapy to address more complex or ongoing concerns. Your therapist will discuss your goals early in the process and collaborate with you to develop a plan that fits your needs.

Are there any benefits to video evaluations?

For young children under the age of 5 years old, conducting a telehealth evaluation can have benefits by conducting the evaluation in a more familiar setting (home) compared to in an unfamiliar setting at the office. Telehealth evaluations provide an opportunity to better understand how a child behaves with familiar adults in a familiar environment.

Do you take Insurance?

No. However, if your plan allows you to work with Out-of-Network providers, then you may request a super bill from your psychologist/therapist and submit it to insurance for reimbursement. Please be advised that we cannot guarantee reimbursement eligibility, so it is recommended that you contact your insurance company for details regarding your specific benefits.

If you miss a scheduled appointment and have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full-fee cost of the session.

Reports are designed to be school-friendly and include recommendations for IEPs or 504 plans.

What’s the difference between psychological, neuropsychological, and educational testing?

Psychological testing- focuses on emotional, behavioral, and diagnostic concerns.
