Russell Hart

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Whether returning to therapy or beginning treatment for the first time, the process of finding a therapist or therapeutic approach can feel alternately exciting, anxiety-inducing, and unclear. Psychotherapy as a field can seem full of technical language that often obscures as much as it clarifies. Imagine finding yourself in a car lot, needing to choose a car but having never before needed or even seen one. How would you know which to choose to fit your needs? Compact? Sports car? Hatchback?

Russell (AMFT #152351) endeavors to journey alongside his clients, exploring the experiences that have shaped and continue to influence their lives and choices. His goal is to be a fellow traveler for each client, helping them navigate their unique paths toward growth and change, ultimately dispelling judgment and arriving at acceptance. Russell works with individuals who have experienced early childhood and relational trauma, anxiety, depression, and issues related to neurodivergence, sexuality, and personality.

Russell is a current fellow at the Wright Institute Los Angeles, where he is receiving advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. He previously trained and gained experience working with individuals, couples, and groups at Maple Counseling, undertook a one-year course in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy studies at LAISPS, earned his MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles, and completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA.
